Kolhapur: Around 1.3 lakh students are eligible to appear for the Class X Maharashtra state board exam across 362 exam centres under the Kolhapur divisional board, covering Kolhapur, Sangli and Satara districts. The Class X board exams will start on Friday. The board has deployed 45 invigilators, and staff at 14 exam centres have been shuffled.
Officials said the exam schedule has been prepared to ensure students had gaps of multiple days between the two papers so that they have adequate time to revise the syllabus.

"We have also deployed counsellors to address the concerns of the students, especially stress-related concerns. We have prepared video lectures of key topics of every subject so that the students can prepare afresh and grasp as much as possible. The teachers have also made separate videos," said Rajesh Kshirsagar, the chairman of the board.
To prevent exam malpractice, the board has installed CCTV cameras across most exam halls. Drones fitted with cameras will also be deployed to keep vigil from above.
Meanwhile, Class X CBSE board exams started on Tuesday onwards, with mathematics as the first subject paper.
"I could not complete the paper; the case studies were lengthy. I left a 10-mark question unanswered. Question number 33 was a bit tough, and it consumed time," said a Class X CBSE student, requesting anonymity.
A mathematics teacher said: "Students are worried about the level of toughness of the next paper of English subject. Maybe, as there are two attempts in the dual exam system, the toughness level of the critical subject is kept high," said the teacher.
