Kasaragod: Ashwin, one of the convicts in the Periya double-murder case, allegedly shared a reel on social media, violating his parole conditions. Ashwin, the seventh accused in the case, was recently released from Kannur Central jail on parole. He is serving double life imprisonment for murdering Youth Congress workers Kripesh and Sarath Lal in 2019.
On his Instagram account, Ashwin shared a short video that begins with him walking through a court complex in slow motion. It then shows him stepping out of a black car, twirling his moustache, smoking and adjusting a steel bangle on his right wrist.
Families of Kripesh and Sarath Lal alleged that the ‘provocative’ social media reel is a violation of parole conditions and demanded action against the convict.
After the incident triggered controversy, the video was deleted from the page. However, the short video was shared widely on social media pages before it was removed.
