Prime Enlighten defeat DKG Entertainment XI by 7 wickets in second semifinal

Kanpur: Opener Ayan Purohit’s century went in vain when his team DKG Entertainment XI lost to Prime Enlighten XI by 7 wickets in the second semifinal of JNT U-12 cricket tournament played under flood light at the Kanpur South ground on Saturday late evening.

DKG Entertainment XI, put into bat, posted a healthy total of 175 runs in 23.5 overs. Opener Ayan Purohit played an impressive innings of 100 runs in 57 balls hitting 15 boundaries and two sixes. He was stumped by wicket keeper Shivansh. Dhruv Verma (28) was another useful contributor. Shivansh Rai was the most successful bowler claiming 4 wickets for 32 runs.

For Prime Enlighten XI, its opener Arijit (56) and Saharsh Vats (37) made the target an easy affair scoring 70 runs in their partnership. With their strong contribution, Prime Enlighten achieved the victory target, losing 3 wickets. Akash Gupta (27) and Abhiram Tripathi (11) returned unbeaten. Ajay Purohit and Jayant both picked one wicket each.
