Veterinary doc electrocuted while supervising construction work in Barmer
Jaisalmer: A senior veterinary doctor died after being electrocuted while supervising construction work at his plot in Baldev Nagar under the RIICO police station area of Barmer city Tuesday. Head Constable Goma Ram identified the deceased as Dr Chatraram (48), a native of Bhojasar Baytu who was residing in Ram Nagar, Barmer. Police said the incident occurred when Chatraram, was overseeing the unloading of a gravel truck for the construction of a boundary wall. He reportedly climbed atop the truck to inspect the load when his hand touched a live overhead electric wire. He collapsed immediately and was rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival. Family members said he had been promoted about one-and-a-half month ago and was posted at Shivkar Veterinary Hospital. He is survived by his wife, a daughter and a son. Police reached the hospital after receiving information about the incident and initiated further proceedings.
