JAIPUR: In a tragic incident, three people, including two teenaged girls, were killed and three others injured on Sunday after a portion of mud caved in on people who were digging at Kolari village of Dholpur.
As part of Diwali decorations, villagers usually paste yellow mud on gates and walls of their houses. The three deceased along with the other women were digging mud for use in their homes when the incident happened around 11.30 pm The deceased were identified as Guddi Devi (40), Sarita (8) and Kiran (10).
"Six persons were stuck under the boulders and mud and with the help of villagers, three of the women were rescued," Kaptaan Singh, circle inspector of Kolari police station said while talking to TOI over phone from Dholpur.
Panic prevailed in and around Kolari village as the news of the sudden death of three women spread like wildfire, police said adding that the site of the accident was already like a gorge as villagers from nearby areas have been digging it for the mud.
