Raj govt to set up 400 CM-RISE schools with ₹1,000cr investment
Jaipur: The state education department has commenced preparations to establish CM-RISE schools, as outlined in the 2026-27 budget. A total of 400 schools are planned, with an initial phase involving the setup of 200 institutions.
Officials said that existing govt schools will be upgraded to CM-RISE schools, and district education officials have been asked to provide necessary details for the project. “We have identified around 425 schools for the project, and feasibility is being checked at present for upgradation of these schools,” Rajesh Yadav, secretary of school education, told TOI.
Officials said that the proposed focus of CM-RISE schools is to develop academic and subject-specific laboratories, sports, wellness, and outdoor learning avenues, enhance the school ambience through the concept of Building as a Learning Aid, set up digital learning and smart classroom infrastructure, among other facilities.
The schools upgraded to CM-RISE will have facilities like Mathematics laboratory, Mathematics, Science and Social Science learning kits, functional laboratories with equipment for Biology, Chemistry and Physics, Artificial Intelligence and robotics laboratory, drone training setup, along with two skill labs for vocational tools and equipment.
To ensure student engagement while promoting arts and culture, these schools will have musical instrument sets, a school band, and a quarterly school magazine will be published, giving space to students’ activities.
For the safety of students, each CM-RISE school will have a complete CCTV surveillance system along with identity cards for students, teachers and other staff in the school. Officials added that all these schools will be solar-powered as a measure towards sustainable future.
As part of the digital infrastructure, the department has proposed setting up a Digital Signage System with revamped reception areas in the schools.
