CS reviews petrol, diesel and LPG supply in State
Jaipur: Chief Secretary V. Srinivas Wednesday chaired a high-level review meeting regarding the supply of petrol, diesel and LPG in the state. In the meeting, he said that adequate stocks of petrol, diesel and LPG are available in the state, and there is no need for the public to panic and make unnecessary purchases. He added that the situation in the state is completely under control.
The CS directed the oil and gas companies operating in the state to release district-wise data on the availability and distribution of petrol, diesel and LPG daily. He said that the daily review of stock availability and distribution arrangements at the district level will be conducted so that no situation of rumours or artificial shortage can arise.
“Rajasthan is connected to the country’s major pipeline network system, through which the regular supply of petrol, diesel and LPG is continuously ongoing. The Centre has assured the state that no disruption in supply will be allowed in the future,” he said.
The CS also directed strict monitoring of bulk open sales of petrol and diesel in drums. He said that the surveillance mechanism will be further strengthened to prevent the illegal sale of fuel and possible leakage. The administration is continuously keeping a watch on the situation. He urged the public not to pay attention to rumours and to avoid panic buying, so that despite adequate availability, no pressure is created on the supply chain.
Food and Civil Supplies secretary Ambarish Kumar said that continuous monitoring is being carried out at the departmental level to prevent any kind of illegal sale of petrol, diesel and LPG in the state.
The meeting was attended by senior officials of BPCL, IOCL and HPCL, representatives of private companies supplying fuel and gas, and representatives of the petrol pump dealers association.
