Kota: The Central Bureau of Narcotics (CBN) seized more than 105 kg of narcotics in two separate operations in Rajasthan and arrested one person as part of its ongoing anti-drug campaign under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan.In the first operation, conducted in Jhalawar district Monday, CBN officials recovered 3.641 kg of MD (mephedrone) from a house in Guradiya Joga village of Pachpahar tehsil.Acting on specific intelligence inputs about alleged narcotics trafficking, a joint team from the CBN's Kota and Bhawanimandi cells raided the premises. After completing legal formalities, officials searched the locked house and recovered the banned synthetic drug along with 7.060 kg of suspected powder, which has been sent for further examination.The seized material was confiscated under the provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985. Further investigation is under way to identify others linked to the network.In another operation, CBN officials seized 101.720 kg of doda chura and a tractor-trolley in Chittorgarh district.The action followed intelligence inputs that a tractor carrying narcotics was moving through the Nimbahera route.
Officials of the CBN's Chittorgarh Cell intercepted the vehicle near Ochhdi toll plaza on the Chittorgarh-Nimbahera highway Sunday and subjected it to a detailed search.During questioning, the driver allegedly disclosed that contraband was concealed beneath a load of stones in the trolley. The vehicle was then taken to the CBN office, where officials found 101.720 kg of doda chura hidden inside five specially made compartments beneath the stones.The narcotics and the vehicle were seized, and one accused was arrested under the NDPS Act. Officials said further investigation is in progress to trace the source and intended destination of the consignment.The agency also appealed to the public to assist in combating narcotics-related crimes by sharing information regarding suspicious drug-related activities.
