ACB arrests 3 for accepting bribes in Didwana-Kuchaman, Chittorgarh

Jaipur: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Thursday arrested three persons in two separate trap operations in Didwana-Kuchaman and Chittorgarh districts for allegedly accepting bribes totalling Rs 3.10 lakh, officials said.In the first case, the ACB Jaipur Rural unit arrested Rajendra Prasad Moyal, administrator (sarpanch) of Bajwas Gram Panchayat under Parbatsar panchayat samiti in Didwana-Kuchaman district, while allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 1 lakh.
According to DG ACB Govind Gupta, the complainant supplied material to the gram panchayat during the 2024–25 financial year and received payment, but his security deposit of Rs 2 lakh was not returned despite repeated applications. After the complainant approached the Raj Sampark Portal, the pending amount was released on Jan 27. However, the accused allegedly demanded Rs 1 lakh as illegal gratification for returning the security deposit.Following verification, the ACB laid a trap on Feb 5 at Sanchor Chauraha and arrested the sarpanch red-handed while accepting the bribe. The action was carried out under the supervision of DIG Anil Kayal and Additional SP Sunil Siyag.In a separate operation, the ACB Chittorgarh unit arrested Paras Ram Vishnoi, village development officer, and Babu Lal Sharma, junior assistant, both posted at Gram Panchayat Sinhpur under Kapasan panchayat samiti, for allegedly taking a bribe of Rs 2.10 lakh.ACB officials said the complainant carried out development works worth Rs 12.80 lakh for the gram panchayat and accused the two officials of demanding Rs 2.10 lakh for online feeding and payment of 7 pending bills for May and June 2025. Acting on the complaint, the ACB conducted a trap and caught the two accused red-handed while accepting Rs 70,000 in cash and Rs 1.40 lakh through cheque.ACB officials said cases under the Prevention of Corruption Act are being registered in both matters, and further investigation is underway.
