Max temp down to 34C amid wind, cloudy sky

Indore: The weather in the city witnessed a delightful change, surprising residents with cloudy skies and gusty winds on Sunday. After scorching heat that had persisted for several days, the maximum temperature significantly dropped to 34.6 degrees Celsius, providing some relief from the sweltering conditions experienced earlier when the mercury soared to 39.6 degrees Celsius on June 13.
The sudden change in weather patterns are attributed to shift in atmospheric conditions, including the arrival of Biparjoy in Rajasthan.
“Indore is likely to witness cloudy skies and gusty winds accompanied with mild rain during the next two days also. The mercury is set to be on the lower side. While the effect of cyclone Biparjoy can be witnessed slightly in Neemuch and Mandsaur where rainfall is expected but the impact of the cyclone has been slowed down,” said Pramendra Kumar, Met scientist from IMD Bhopal circle. Meteorologists suggest that the city is likely to experience a delayed monsoon this year. Meanwhile on Sunday the city was enveloped with cloudy skies the entire day and strong winds of nearly 35-38km per hour kept the weather soothing throughout the day. The minimum temperature was recorded as 25.5 degree Celsius which was a degree above normal average. However the cloudy skies raised the relative humidity of the city with 62% in morning and 44% in the evening. The gusty winds continued to blow during the night also. Light thunderstorms were witnessed in Agar, Ratlam, Mandsaur, Jhabua and Dhar. TNN
