Indore: Indoreans woke up to light showers, which increased to 10 mm in night from 5.4mm in morning in a span of 12 hours, on Sunday.
The temperatures remained dipped as the sun continued to playing hide and seek throughout the afternoon. Weekend witnessed a lot of Indoreans opting for long drive and visiting to weekend gateways — Jam Gate, Chidiya bhadak, Maheshwar Fort, Mandu and others.
Light to moderate showers with thunderstorm is likely in Indore till July 14 as per forecast of per Met department. “Indore has already crossed the average seasonal rainfall and it is likely to witness moderate showers in the coming week,” Met officer Ajay Shukla told TOI.
Met has issued orange alert for Khandwa, Dhar, Khargone, Dewas and Burhanpur on Monday which implies chances of heavy rainfall.
Although in Madhya Pradesh, from June 1 to July 10, rain has been one per cent above long period average seasonal rainfall, whereas Indore has already reached four per cent above normal long period average seasonal rainfall on Sunday. Normal seasonal rainfall till July 10 for Indore district is 203.1% and the department has already recorded 210.8% rainfall.
