INDORE: A memorandum has been submitted to district magistrate on Thursday seeking magisterial inquiry into the collapse of St Raphael school building by a group of lawyers from the city.
The lawyers referred to MS Hotel collapse that claimed ten lives claiming that the action being taken by IMC against dangerous buildings was inadequate. The lawyers also alleged that the IMC zone having jurisdiction over Sarwate bus stand area and school was the same.
“It proves grave negligence on part of IMC officials in checking the strength of such buildings.
It also indicates illegal construction by the school. So, we have appealed for a high-level magisterial inquiry into the incident of school building collapse,” advocate Vaibhav Bansal said. He has sought spot inspection and survey of all the dangerous buildings by the civic body so that such incidents are not repeated in future. A copy of the memorandum has been given to the IMC commissioner.
