Indore: Ujjain police on Saturday arrested assistant engineer of the electricity department for demanding Rs 3,000 bribe from an outsource employee to transfer him.
Lokayukta police inspector Basant Shrivastav said that the accused Pranesh Kumar is posted as assistant engineer in Ujjain circle of Madhya Pradesh Paschim Kshetra Vidyut Vitaran Company. Complainant Arjun Chouhan said that he had asked for a transfer from Mohanpura grid to Chandukhedi grid for which the accused assistant engineer asked for a bribe of Rs 7000. He approached Ujjain Lokayukta SP with a complaint. After investigations, the complainant was asked to give half the amount. On Saturday, the accused was arrested red handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 3000 from the complainant. tnn
