With 3,000 IRB jawans in Manipur, nobody can destabilise us: Biren
Imphal: Manipur CM N Biren Singh on Monday appealed to the people of the valley to stop rallies and protests in the region and assured them that the state will triumph over those who attempted to disintegrate Manipur. He was speaking at the flagging-off and foundation laying ceremony of the Rs 1,700 crore Imphal Ring Road project at Takyel Khongbal Leikai, Patsoi, Imphal West. He said with more than 3,000 India Reserve Battalions deployed along the foothills, nobody can destabilise Manipur’s integrity. “We are at war against those who are trying to break apart our forefatherland,” the chief minister said. Vowing that people will overcome the current situation, Biren said his administration is made up of individuals who have been fighting tirelessly against those who want to compromise the integrity of the state for the last nine months. Urging the valley people to quit staging protests and agitation in the region, the CM said, “There are countless youths and people to protect the aggression that attempts to break up Manipur.” “We will fight against the policies that try to ruin the youths and future generations with drugs, planting poppy that eventually leads to deforestation and establishing drug cartels, and the volatile threat to the indigenous people of Manipur through the influx of illegal immigrants from neighbouring regions,” he added. On the ring road project, the CM posted on Facebook, “As we start this transformative project, we pave the way for reduced traffic congestion, improved urban mobility, and a sustainable environment. Together, let’s shape the roads of progress, connecting hearts, and fostering growth.” Works minister K Govindas, legislator H Dingo and others were present on the occasion.
