Manipur’s Asiad medallist Roshibina bags DSP post
Imphal: Chief minister N Biren Singh on Sunday announced appointing Wushu player Naorem Roshibina Devi, who won a silver in the 19th Asian Games in China, as DSP in Manipur Police department.
Speaking on the occasion of Sanaroishingee Numit (Players’ Day) at Khuman Lampak Sports Complex in Imphal, Biren also said govt jobs would be provided to all the gold medallists of the 36th and the 37th National Games held in Gujarat and Goa, respectively.

A resident of Kwasiphai in Bishnupur district, Roshibna paved her way to learn Wushu at SAI training centre in Imphal. She clinched the silver medal in the women’s 60-kg Sanda final at the Asiad.
Biren also inaugurated “Mr Maipak Sports Digital Experience Centre” at the Khuman Lampak Sports Complex.
Besides helping players in their practice, the centre will also give information about successful sportspersons of the state and their achievements and highlight the various govt schemes taken up for the welfare of sportspersons, he said.
The centre has been named after iconic bodybuilder, late Nongthombam Maipak Singh, as a recognition of his achievements in the field of bodybuilding, Biren said and further stressed the need to honour and respect the achievements of the elders.
