Manipur assembly session on Feb 28

Imphal: Governor Anusuiya Uikey has summoned the fifth session of the 12th state legislative assembly on February 28, a statement issued by the state information and public relations department said on Tuesday.Last Friday, the state cabinet had decided to convene the session on February 28 and since it will be the first sitting of the year, the governor’s address will be given and discussed. It will be the second session of the state assembly after the ongoing conflict broke out in May last year. State information and public relations minister Sapam Ranjan Singh said among other matters, the much-awaited “Name of Places Bill” will be tabled in the ensuing session.

Assembly budget session starts today

The first budget session of the 16th assembly will commence today. Deputy chief minister Jagdish Dewra will present an interim budget. Governor Mangubhai Patel will address the House. MLAs have asked 2303 questions and 233 call attention motions.
