HYDERABAD: Rumblings continue in Telangana Pradesh
Congress Committee (TPCC). Bhongir MP Komatireddy
Venkat Reddy and former NDMA vice-chairman Marri Shashidhar Reddy both have sought an appointment with AICC president Sonia Gandhi to explain their position and the state of affairs of the party in light of recent developments.
Venkat Reddy also stated that he wanted to meet the Congress chief to inform her of the insults he has been subjected to in the party.
On Wednesday, Shashidhar Reddy created a stir when he blamed TPCC chief Manickam Tagore and TPCC chief A Revanth Reddy for tensions in the party and failing to take everyone along.
Former MP Renuka Chowdary came out in support of Shashidhar Reddy on Thursday. “Shashidhar Reddy is a very patient person and that something may have really bothered him to say things. These things will pass. I hope Revanth Reddy understands the situation,” she said
Another senior leader, Mallu Ravi, stated that the comments made against Manickam Tagore and Revanth Reddy were uncalled for. “I disagree with those comments, they harm the party’s reputation,” he said.
Meanwhile, TPCC programme implementation committee head Maheshwar Reddy, who openly criticised TPCC chief A Revanth Reddy, stated that the party had taken up many activities and got massive response.
“AICC has given me responsibility after observing my hard work,” he said at a press conference. “I have no disagreements with the party. We will work together because Congress is the only alternative to TRS, not BJP,” he added.
Meanwhile, rumblings continue to persist at district level. Anirudh Reddy, a party leader from Jadcherla, has expressed his displeasure over working with former MLA Erra Shekhar, who would be joining the party.
