HYDERABAD: A 14-year-old boy, who was ‘confined’ and assaulted for three days by an advocate for reportedly damaging his Hyundai i10 car in an accident recently, was rescued on Saturday.

Gachibowli police said that Sachin, who runs a chat stall in the neighbourhood, was on his bike last Thursday when it hit advocate Rama Sesham Raju’s car near YSR Bhavan crossroads at Gachibowli.
The i10 driver, Sundar Raju, nabbed Sachin and forced him to call his brother Jayraj to the accident spot. Sachin was then taken to Rama Sesham’s house at Jayabheri 4 Seasons in Gachibowli by the driver.
“Sachin was confined and allegedly assaulted. He was forced to work at a service apartment for three days. When his family members pleaded with the advocate to free Sachin, he first demanded Rs 10,000 and later scaled it to Rs 15,000,” Gachibowli sub-inspector C Venkatesh told TOI.
The victim’s family with the help of locals then called up police, who went to the business hotel apartment and rescued the boy.
A case was registered against Rama Sesham, his relative Karunakar Raju and driver Sundar Raju by Gachibowli police under sections 341 (punishment for wrongful restraint) and 324 (voluntarily causing hurt with dangerous weapons) of IPC. The three were arrested and released on bail.
