Sharada takes charge of urban authority

vijayawada: dr kolli sharada on sunday assumed charge as the chairperson of the vijayawada-guntur-tenali-mangalagiri urban development authority. she is the first woman to head the uda. vijayawada east mla kota srinivasa rao, former mla b s jayaraj, palaparthy ramu (guntur), koneru sridhar (vijayawada),telugu desam leaders u v narsaraju, gottumukkala sujatha, s k hussain and d narayana swamy have also assumed charge as directors of the uda board.minister of state for technical education alapati rajendra prasad,vijayawada mp gadde ramamohan, guntur zilla parishad chairman pathuri nagabhushanam and other telugu desam leaders, uda vice-chairman j suresh babu attended the function. the new team will be in office for two years. guntur-1 mla s m ziauddin and tenali mla gogineni umadevi who have also been appointed directors of uda did not attend the function. sharada and other directors were later felicitated at a function organised at the tummalapallivari kshetrayya kalakshetram here. minister for medical and health sanakkayala aruna, minister of state for bc welfare and fisheries n narasimha rao complimented the new team and hoped they would strive for the development of the urban areas in the region. rajya sabha member yedlapati venkata rao presided over the programme in which vijayawada mayor p anuradha, guntur mayor chukka yesuratnam, mlas j r pushparaj, makineni pedarattaiah, dhulipalla narendra kumar, p pulla rao, y v anjaneyulu were among the other dignitaries took part in the function.
