Other staff present at the site then alerted the police and fire department and it took a nearly two-hour rescue operation to extricate the three workers. Madhu was declared dead while the other two workers are undergoing treatment in the ICU of a private hospital. "Madhu died after inhaling carbon monoxide gas. The condition of the other two is stable,'' LB Nagar inspector P Srinivas Reddy said.
This is the second such incident in the last two months. Two workers had died in a similar manner in a mishap in Madhapur a few weeks ago.
Meanwhile, in another incident at Saroornagar, police fished out an unidentified body from the Saroornagar Lake on Friday. The body bore no external injuries and further investigations are on.
