, inspected the historical Mosque. He said he had taken note of the pending renovation work and said all efforts would be made to complete it as early as possible.

"Today we took note of the pending renovation work of the historical Mecca Masjid. We have reached an agreement with a builder who sought 18 months time to complete renovation works. The renovation work will be monitored by

officials and we have instructed concerned authorities to finish work soon,'' Mohammed Saleem said.

He added that officials have been urged to complete the renovation work inside the mosques in order to ensure that devotees don't face any problems. "We want authorities to complete all the interior works by next Ramzan. We do not want devotees to face any kind of problem. Later, works outside will be carried out. It is one of the best and most well-known historical mosques in India and everyone should come forward to protect this place,'' said the Waqf board chairman.

"About 1 crore was sanctioned before the holy month of Ramzan and the project cost is around 8.47 lakh," he said.
