Hyderabad:
Ivanka Trump, advisor to US President
Donald Trump is looking forward to her India visit for the Global Entrepreneurship Summit (
GES) being organized at Hyderabad from November 28-30. Trump’s daughter who participated in Diwali celebrations in the White House with the president and members of the Indian community tweeted about her India visit. “Wishing Hindus, Sikhs & Jains around the world a joyful #Diwali.
Saal Mubarak to all! Looking forward to my visit to India for #GES2017,” she said.
Being organized by Niti Ayog in association with the US government, women entrepreneurs from across the globe will participate in the summit. Prime Minister
Narendra Modi will inaugurate the summit. A look at the topics for the sessions throws light on the wide range of subjects that will be covered during the summit. One session has been titled “How to fail better”.
“Failure is part of any entrepreneurs’ journey. However, the role of failure and how one reacts to it varies,” an introduction about the subject says. In this session, participants learn how to capitalize on their failures, particularly in attracting funding, employing smart marketing, and building a customer base. Another topic in the summit has been titled “The City that Never Sleeps: Cities of Tomorrow”. The discussion by panelists on what cities of tomorrow will look like as they become smarter and get on the digital grind.
There is a session on the film industry too, titled “From Hollywood to Nollywood to Bollywood: The Path to Moviemaking.” It may be mentioned here that the Indian film industry is the biggest in the world. The reason for a session on this is that ‘while arts and entertainment are attractive to people, many lack a full understanding of the business behind the industry and how to successfully and profitably tap into the creative economy.’ In the session, delegates will learn from panelists who are turning art and entertainment into sources of revenue, jobs, and wealth creation.
If I Knew Then What I Know Now”: (Breakout) Making mistakes is inevitable when starting a business, but hearing from those who have already navigated the challenge of starting a business can help entrepreneurs avoid learning some lessons the hard way. Panelists discuss the lessons they’ve learned over their careers, and how they propelled their businesses toward success. Among other subjects are “Protecting Your Genius” as panelists will discuss on protecting intellectual property (IP). They will take case studies and explain how this helped businesses thrive and discuss linkages between strong IP systems, innovation, and successful economies. “How Artificial Intelligence will shape Tomorrow” is another interesting subject that will be discussed at the GES.
