Ex-BC panel chief wants thorough caste survey

done: arunHyderabad: Former BC Commission chairman Vakulabharanam Krishna Mohan Rao has urged the Telangana govt to allow adequate time for the dedicated BC Commission to complete its report on BC reservations. He emphasised the need for a genuine caste survey and thorough research before submission.Speaking to reporters, Krishna Mohan Rao expressed concerns that the govt is pressuring the commission to submit its report based on the caste survey data, similar to issues faced by Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Gujarat, and Karnataka, where the Supreme Court rejected reports relying on govt-provided data.He warned that if the govt ignores concerns about BC population decline and submits a politically motivated report, it could lead to serious consequences.Krishna Mohan Rao also pointed out allegations of a decline in BC, SC, and ST populations in the recent socio-economic caste survey and called for a comprehensive analysis before submitting the report.
