Hyderabad: A food delivery executive was allegedly attacked by a restaurant worker following an argument over a delayed food order. According to the complainant, Prashik Romteke (25), a student from SR Nagar who also works part-time for a food delivery app, received a pickup request from a restaurant in Somajiguda at 8:20 pm on May 27. He reached the eatery at about 8:30 pm and asked a worker at the counter whether the order was ready.The worker allegedly told him to wait for 15 minutes. After waiting for about 20 minutes, Prashik again enquired about the status of the order due to time constraints. “The worker responded rudely and asked me to wait longer. When I requested him to speak properly, an argument broke out. During the altercation, he attacked me with a shawarma knife and pushed me, causing bleeding injuries near my neck and a minor injury at the back of the head,” the victim informed the police.Other customers intervened and stopped the attacker. Prashik was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment and later approached the Punjagutta police. Based on his complaint, police registered a case under Sections 118(1) (Voluntarily causing hurt or grievous hurt by dangerous weapons or means), 352 (Intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace) and 351(2) (criminal intimidation) of the BNS. Police said that they identified the accused as Nitish Kumar Yadav and that he would be served a notice.
