Cops reject permission for Jana Sena’s public meet in Gachibowli
Hyderabad: The proposed meeting of Jana Sena Party at a private convention centre in Gachibowli was rejected by Cyberabad police on Monday.
In a letter while rejecting the permission to ‘Jana Sena Sadhaks’ event, Cyberabad police cited the recent controversy between the former MLC from Telangana, Prof Nageshwar, and Jana Sena, as one of the reasons for rejecting the permission.
“The recent alleged remarks by Prof K Nageshwar on the meeting of AP’s deputy chief minister and union home minister, and the subsequent registration of criminal case against Nageshwar in AP led to escalating tensions and animosities across Telangana. Recent public utterances made by certain political leaders from AP including Jana Sena with respect to the matter involving Nageshwar have deeply hurt the sentiments of the people of Telangana, triggering widespread backlash, counter-protests and strong opposition from various student bodies and activist groups in the state,’’ the order noted.
Apart from this, the police said that lack of designated parking place at the private convention centre was another reason for the rejection.
Earlier, the general secretary of ‘Jana Sena Sadhaks’ had approached the police seeking permission for a gathering of 2,000 party workers.
