HYDERABAD: Chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Friday hosted an iftar party at Goshamahal Stadium.
Apart from Muslims, many people from other communities including politicians, bureaucrats, and prominent personalities also took part in the party. The chief minister, throwing security restrictions to the wind, greeted his visitors and mingled freely with them.
Wearing a prayer cap, Naidu extended a ‘salaam’ to all the people who met him.
He also spent time talking with prominent Muslim personalities.
Before the iftar, Qiraat-e-Kalaam Pak (reading of The Quran) and an address by a religious leader were organised. Iftar was followed by the Namaaz-e-Maghrib (the evening prayer) and a dinner.
Mayor Teegala Krishna Reddy, city police commissioner R P Singh, MCH commissioner Chitra Ramachandran, district collector Rajeshwar Tiwari, wakf board chairperson Mohammed Saleem, Urdu Academy president Ibrahim-Bin-Abdullah Masqati, chairperson of the state minorities commission Justice Sadatullah Hussaini, TDP spokesperson and MP K Chandrasekhara Reddy, TDP general secretary Ahmed Shareef, many ulema including Moulana Badruddin Qadri Aljeelani and Moulana Qubool Pasha Shuttari attended the iftar party.
