Bendre's death anniversary today

DHARWAD: Dr Da Raa Bendre National Memorial Trust will organize two separate programmes on Tuesday to mark the 30th death anniversary of the Jnanpith awardee poet.
In a programme at Bendre Bhavan in Sadhanakeri at 10.30 am, Rangaraj Vanadurga and Jagadeesh Mangalurmath will review the six books -Jangama Fakeerana Jolige (Arif Raja), Godege Bareda Navilu (Sandeep Nayak), Vendor Kannu (Shivu), Yajna (Chidanand Sali), Vistarane (Shridhar Hegde Bhadran) and Rangabhoomi Diggaja Basavaraj Mansur (Martanadappa Katti) - which have been selected for Bendre Trust Annual Award-2009.Jayant Kaikini and Bendre Trust chairman Shyamsundar Bidarkundi will be present.
Noted writer Belagere Krishnashastri will be the chief guest at the Bendre Smruti programme to be held at 6 pm in Srujana auditorium. Professor K S Sharma will release the book `Belagere Kanda Bendre'.
