For more information, eligible students can contact 9483425046, 9845101696.Provide access to agri lands: RyotsHubballi: The Krishik Samaj and farmers of Kalasa Banduri Horata Samiti urged the authorities to provide access agricultural lands to farmers. Manikya Chellur and Lokanath Hebasur, of Krishik Samaj and Horata Samiti respectively, said that on June 14, they will convene a meeting of farmers who are facing problems accessing their agricultural land. In the meeting, a detailed discussion will be held and a later date will be finalised to submit a memorandum to Dharwad DC, urging to solve the issue. Hebasur said there is a govt order and a court order pertaining to providing the access way to the farmers to access their fields, but the authorities are not acting tough against those who are not allowing use the way to reach filed a for sowing. As the region is receiving rain, farmers have to reach their agriculture land for sowing and for other agriculture activities. The authorities should intervene and solve the issues related to land access, they urged.BCC extends 5% rebate on property tax till July-endBelagavi: The Belagavi City Corporation (BCC) has extended the deadline for paying property tax until July 31, offering a 5% rebate for the year 2024-25. Property holders can pay the tax online. BCC has developed the ‘Online Payment Integration of Property Tax’ software for online property tax payments. Property holders, by using the computerised form No-1 and the PID number, can pay the tax at all Belagavi-1 centres using a debit card, credit card, or net banking. Property holders can directly pay the tax by visiting www.belagavicitycorp.org. They will receive a 5% rebate on paying the complete tax.Fill up vacant posts in govt, MLC urges CMDharwad: MLC V Sankanur has urged chief minister Siddaramaiah to take steps to fill the vacant posts in various govt departments. Speaking at a function to felicitate the retired lecturers organised by the Karnataka State PU College Employees’ Association here on Tuesday, the MLC said more than 2.5 lakh posts in various govt departments are vacant for past ten years. Due to this, the works in govt offices are going on at a snail’s pace and the people are made to run from pillar to post. He said the govt should fill up the vacant posts in a phased manner. Sankanur pointed out that many employees, unable to bear the work pressure, are opting for voluntary retirement before attaining the superannuation. As per the last wishes of the donor, the deceased Sudha Kulkarni’s family donated her body to KLE Medical College, Hubballi, through Dr Ramannavar Charitable Trust Bailhongal. Chairing a meeting with the officials of health and Ayush departments to discuss the preparations for the Yoga Day here on Tuesday, she said Yoga is the panacea for all sorts of diseases and performing yoga daily will help to keep both the body and mind healthy. She emphasised the need for the Ayush department to popularise yoga. Divya said International Yoga Day will be observed at the RN Shetty Stadium in Dharwad on June 21 in a meaningful manner. There will be a yoga session from 6.45am to 8am. Students, teachers, officers of various govt departments and members of various organisations will participate in the programme. The invitation will be extended to the chairman of the Legislative Council, district minister, Union minister and legislators. KMF will distribute milk to all the participants, the DC said.
