Mizoram BJP leaders meet Shah, appeal for fund to upgrade airport
Aizawl: Mizoram BJP president Vanlalhmuaka on Monday said BJP leaders had met Union home minister Amit Shah at the Raj Bhavan in Aizawl, appealing to the latter to ensure that adequate fund be provided by the Centre, through the Airports Authority of India, for improvement and upgradation of Lengpui airport. Vanlalhmuaka informed the media at the ‘Atal Bhavan' or BJP office in Aizawl that the state BJP unit leaders, including the president, two BJP legislators K Beichhua and K Hrahmo as well as chief executive members of Mara autonomous district council (MADC) and Chakma autonomous district council (CADC), submitted a written plea to Shah.Besides improvement of Lengpui airport, leaders of the state BJP urged the home minister for expeditious implementation of the 125th Constitution Amendment Act 2019 in the three autonomous district councils in Mizoram.
