Bike robbers’ gang busted in Dhubri, 2 held

Dhubri: A robbery gang active in Dhubri for a long time was busted on Monday night, and police recovered a motorcycle, along with several items stolen over the past few months.

Two accused were also arrested.

Police launched an operation after a motorcycle was reported stolen from the Panchmore area of Dhubri town on Monday evening. Acting on a tip-off, a team led by OC Pritam Das raided the houses of Sajid Roushan of Jhagrarpar Part-III and Rafiqul Islam of Aironjongla Part-III under Dhubri police station.

During the raids, police recovered the stolen motorcycle and other stolen items.

Das said the motorcycle’s chassis number had been erased to facilitate its sale.

“Many other goods, including three bicycles, water pumps, bronze utensils and Rs 14,300 in cash, were recovered from the possession of the duo,” Das added.
