After 9 months, Churachandpur school reopens in new site
“Acknowledging the importance of continuation of education for students, the Assam Rifles relentlessly worked towards resumption of curriculum at the school. The AR extended support for shifting the school to its new location, while ensuring safety of the assets,” the spokesperson said, adding that relocating it to a nearby area was the decision of the school authorities.
Assam Rifles also distributed stationery articles to more than 250 students coming from 15 remote villages.
“The initiative will help these children resume their education after 10 turbulent months and prevent them from losing an academic year. A sense of security and normalcy has been reinstated in one of the worst violence-hit areas through consistent and unceasing efforts by Assam Rifles,” the spokesperson said.
He said the initiative was successful because of the trust and faith of the local population in Assam Rifles, which convinced them to send their children back to school again.
