Speeding bike kills truck driver waiting for lift on NH-48 in Gurgaon
Gurgaon: A 44-year-old truck driver was killed after a speeding motorcycle rammed into him while he was waiting for a ride at Panchgaon Chowk on the Delhi-Jaipur Highway (NH-48) on Friday morning. The deceased, Sarvesh, a native of Kannauj in Uttar Pradesh, had reached Panchgaon Chowk around 6.30am via the KMP route. He had deboarded a bus and was waiting to head towards Dharuhera when a motorcycle coming from the Manesar side allegedly hit him at high speed. According to a complaint filed by his brother, Rinku Pal, at Bilaspur police station, the rider was driving rashly and negligently. The impact left Sarvesh with fractures in both legs and severe abdominal injuries. The rider also fell and suffered injuries. Passers-by rushed Sarvesh to Fortis Hospital in Manesar, where he succumbed during treatment. Police said a case was registered under Sections 281 (rash driving) and 106 (causing death by negligence) of the BNS. Inquest proceedings under Section 194 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita have been initiated. The accused rider is yet to be arrested.
