Gurgaon: Civil Hospital in the city saw 315 patients in the outpatient department (OPD) and six admissions to the inpatient ward — most of them came after Holi.
According to hospital records from March 4 and 5, the hospital handled a range of festival-related complaints, including three cases of eye infection, along with minor injuries and allergic reactions commonly reported after Holi "when coloured powder comes into contact with the eyes or skin", according to the doctors. Four patients, who were involved in road accidents, were referred to Safdarjung Hospital.

The hospital's medico-legal case (MLC) register recorded 23 injury cases during the day. Of these, 14 were categorised as physical assault, while the remaining three were recorded as non-MLC cases. Doctors mark injuries as MLC cases when they are suspected to be linked to fights, violence or other incidents that require legal documentation and police intimation.
Doctors said hospitals "usually see a mix of medical complaints" and injury cases during and immediately after Holi, prompting additional medical teams to remain on standby during the festival period. Hospital staff were on alert during the festival period, as such cases typically rise around Holi due to exposure to colours, smoke from celebrations and minor scuffles during festivities.
