The hearing took place in the court of Tarannum Khan, the chief judicial magistrate at the Taluka court, which operates under the district courts in Pataudi, as confirmed by the police.

The Gurgaon Police had initially sought a seven-day remand, but the court decided to grant a four-day remand instead.

Advocate Kulbhushan Bhardwaj, representing Monu Manesar, explained, "The police demanded seven-day remand of Monu Manesar, saying the weapon used in the crime will be recovered from his accomplice from Maharashtra. They also said Monu would be questioned to find out his connection with gangsters. After this, the court allowed four-day police remand of Monu Manesar".

A senior police officer confirmed that Monu Manesar is now in their custody, and they are currently conducting inquiries with him.

The incident in question took place on February 6 in Pataudi's Baba Shah Mohalla, where a confrontation between two groups occurred while Monu Manesar was present with his group.

A complaint was filed by Mubin Khan, a resident of the same locality, alleging that his son had been shot during the clash between the two groups. Subsequently, an FIR was registered against Manesar at the Pataudi police station under section 307, which pertains to an attempt to murder.

Monu Manesar had been arrested in connection with the abduction and murder of Nasir and Junaid. Their charred remains were discovered in a vehicle on the Rajasthan-Haryana border on February 16, following allegations that they had been abducted by vigilantes who accused them of cow smuggling.
