Gurgaon civic body to conduct two-day cleanliness drive in four wards on June 4-5
Gurgaon: MCG will undertake a two-day intensive cleanliness drive in four wards across the city on June 4 and 5 as part of a statewide sanitation campaign launched by the Haryana urban local bodies department ahead of World Environment Day.
The drive will focus on ward 10 (Zone 1), ward 32 (Zone 2), ward 4 (Zone 3), and ward 22 (Zone 4), where civic teams will target garbage vulnerable points, remove accumulated waste, and carry out intensive cleaning operations. The campaign is being conducted in compliance with directions issued by the urban local bodies department to all 87 urban local bodies across the state.
According to MCG officials, the selected wards have been identified for focused intervention and will be closely monitored to ensure visible improvement in sanitation conditions.
MCG commissioner Pradeep Dahiya has directed additional municipal commissioners, joint commissioners, and other officers to oversee the implementation of the campaign and ensure adherence to timelines and targets.
“This special cleanliness drive of MCG will not be limited to cleaning alone but will also serve as a medium to make citizens responsible towards environmental protection and cleanliness. This initiative will prove to be an important step towards building a clean, healthy and green city,” said Dahiya.
The state govt has described the campaign as a mission-mode effort aimed at improving urban sanitation, eliminating garbage vulnerable points and encouraging community participation.
