PANAJI: Superintendent of Police of North Goa Bosco George on Tuesday tendered an unconditional apology before the high court of Bombay at Goa following a notice issued to him for making objectionable statements in his reply to the State Police Complaints Authortiy (SPCA).
The high court disposed off the petition. The SP also gave an undertaking to the court that he will also apologise to the SPCA.
In his affidavit, the SP stated that the reply was unintentional and without any intention to disrespect the authority .
Chairman of SPCA, Justice ( retd) Dr Eurico Santana da Silva, had issued summons to the SP to appear before him in connection with a complaint filed by a lady regarding gambling and prostitution activities in her neighbourhood. The SP in his reply had stated that the SPCA has acted beyond its jurisdiction and is bound to withdraw the summons, failing which he will make a representation before the Goa government.
