Godinho, stating that he was non-existent for the party. All India Congress Committee general secretary and Goa desk incharge Digvijaya Singh told reporters, “He (Mauvin) is virtually out of party. What action we should take against him?”

Godinho is the second MLA who has become non-existent for the party. Earlier, St Cruz MLA Antanasio Monserrate was expelled from the party. Godinho had already announced that he will join the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party and will contest from Dabolim assembly constituency on BJP ticket.
