KTC workers to demonstrate at Margao today

PANAJI: Employees of Kadamba Transport Corporation (KTC) will stage a demonstration at the Margao depot on Monday.
A press release by the Goa Government Employees Association (GGEA) states that KTC employees held a meeting at the association office on Sunday, where they unanimously decided to submit a reminder to KTC management, demanding payment of 25% arrears of the Sixth Pay Commission, and a statement of pay fixation to all employees by July 8.
The employees further resolved to authorise the GGEA, to decide the future course of action such as holding demonstrations at the head office and all depots.
'Demonstration at other depots will be decided and intimated to the employees accordingly. It has been resolved to serve a strike notice for settlement of demands simultaneously. It has also been unanimously resolved to demand for payment of bonus for the year ending 2009-10 to all the left-out employees within one months time,' the press release stated.
