CM promises 2 cabinet berths for Salcete in post-poll govt

Margao: Chief minister Pramod Sawant on Monday said all eight constituencies of

Salcete

would stand by BJP this time.

“Many lotuses will bloom across Salcete in this election. There’s no mission Salcete this time, as the previous such exercises gave us (not-so-good) experiences. This time, however, the people of Salcete have decided to stand by BJP. Don’t be surprised if lotuses bloom in new places,” Sawant told a press conference at the party’s South Goa district office.

Significantly, Sawant said that Salcete will get two

cabinet

berths in the next BJP government. “Babu Ajgaonkar (Margao) will be made the deputy chief minister and Damu Naik (Fatorda) will be a minister,” he said.

“Goa experienced the most corrupt government during the tenure of Digambar Kamat as chief minister; he has thus no right to accuse the BJP government of being corrupt. Vijai should tell the people before elections who changed the land zone of the place earmarked for kabrastan,” Sawant said.
