350 landslide-hit families at Bogda to get tenement rights
Vasco: Nearly 350 families affected by the 1999 landslide at Bharatline, Bogda, will receive relief after the Goa Rehabilitation Board (GRB) agreed to grant them tenement rights at the GRB colony in Headland–Sada.
GRB member Rajesh Faldessai announced the decision at a meeting-cum-interaction with colony residents, organised by Mormugao MLA Sankalp Amonkar.
Faldessai said legal owners will be issued documents on payment of Rs 1,000 per tenement, with the ownership transfer process expected to be completed within a month.
The families were relocated to the GRB colony after the landslide and have been living there since, without formal ownership rights.
Amonkar said the resolution was possible only with the intervention of Chief Minister Pramod Sawant.
