Three arrested for selling narcotic drugs to youth in Erode town

ERODE: The prohibition enforcement wing (PEW) police arrested three men for selling narcotic drugs to some youths in Erode town on Tuesday. They also seized the drugs from the trio.

The arrested men have been identified as K Vasanth, 26, of Manickampalayam in Erode town, his accomplices V Vadivel, 26, of Vandipettai in Thanjavur district and S Amir, 34, of Manickampalayam in Erode district.

PEW police SSI S Haridass got a tip-off that three men were selling drugs. The police went to the spot and found the trio standing behind a bakery at EBB Nagar in a suspicious manner.

"We found 420 drugs stored in four boxes," said investigation officer and the SI-PEW K Kuganeswaran.

Based on their confession statement, the police registered a case and arrested them. They were remanded in judicial custody.
