ERODE: Even before the DMK-Congress alliance announced their candidate for the Erode-East assembly constituency, DMK ministers, including K N Nehru and S Muthusamy started their election campaign on Saturday.
They started their campaign from Periyar Nagar in The constituency.
While interacting with reporters, Nehru said the DMK and its alliance party leaders would approach the voters to highlight the government's achievements. The AIADMK governed for 10 years and had done nothing, especially for urban development. "The DMK government has been doing plenty for urban development, implementing several schemes and measures," he said. He expressed confidence that the TNCC candidate would surely win in the upcoming by-election.
Housing and urban devel- opment minister S Muthusamy said the DMK has started its election campaign without any hesitation as chief minister M K Stalin and his gov- ernment had done a lot in the last one-and-a-half years.
He added that more mem- bers of DMK and its alliance party leaders would join the campaign soon.
Asked about the date when Stalin and youth welfare minister Udhayanidhi would join the campaign trail, the ministers said no date has been decided yet. Several DMK and TNCC party leaders participated in the campaign..
