ERODE: A 50-year-old power loom unit owner and his teenage daughter were killed when their bike rammed into a tree on Thursday night.
The deceased were identified as Kanthasamy of Kumarapalayam in Namakkal district and his daughter Sivanandhini, 17.
Kanthasamy, his wife Nirmala and Sivanandhini had visited the temple of their family deity at Anthiyur in Erode on Thursday morning.
They were returning in the night when the bike skidded and rammed into a tree at Kadayampatti.
Kanthasamy died on the spot. Nirmala and Sivanandhini were rushed to the Bhavani Government Hospital, from where they were referred to a private hospital. But Sivanandhini died on the way to the hospital.
