The impact was great that the SUV turned turtle while the front of the SX4 car was completely smashed. The incident took place in the C Hexagon near Rajpath.
One passenger of the SUV was injured and was rushed to hospital where he was declared stable.
A case of rash and negligent driving and causing hurt has been registered. Neither of the drivers was drunk, said traffic officials. Both the vehicles were apparently speeding, said officials.
"Many motorists drive rashly and do not follow lane rules at the C Hexagon. They put others' lives in jeopardy," said a police officer.
