Nine workers rescued from factory fire in Bawana
New Delhi: Nine people were rescued after a fire broke out at a cooler grass manufacturing factory in outer Delhi’s Bawana area in the early hours of Saturday.According to Delhi Fire Services (DFS), a call regarding the blaze was received at 3.15 am, following which eight fire tenders carrying around 48 fire personnel were rushed to the spot. Firefighters launched an operation to contain the flames and rescue those trapped inside the premises.Officials said thick smoke engulfed parts of the unit, prompting firefighters to conduct a search and evacuation operation. The flammable grass reportedly intensified the blaze and caused it to spread quickly.No casualties were reported, officials said.The operation continued for nearly two hours before the fire was brought under control. The blaze was declared extinguished at around 5 am. The exact cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.
