Mansukh Mandaviya on Tuesday and urged him to allow
Chhath Puja and issue necessary guidelines regarding the event.

People of Poorvanchalis community — who largely belong to
Bihar and eastern Uttar Pradesh — are eagerly waiting to celebrate Chhath Puja with their family and loved ones, Sisodia stated in the letter and added that the central government should allow the celebration of Chhath Puja at the earliest. In the letter, Sisodia also underlined how Chhath Puja is a symbol of faith and culture.
The Covid-19 situation in the capital is under control and almost all economic activities are permitted. Delhi Disaster Management Authority recently banned the celebration of Chhath Puja in public places in the wake of the Covid situation.
“As you know, Chhath Puja is the biggest religious, cultural and social festival celebrated in most north Indian states. In Delhi, too, this festival is celebrated with great devotion. This year, the people of Purvanchli community are also eagerly waiting to celebrate Chhath Puja with their family and loved ones,” the deputy CM stated.
