NEW DELHI: Delhi's Lieutenant Governor, Vinai Kumar Saxena, organized a lunch on Thursday at Raj Niwas to honor the seven BJP Lok Sabha MPs who emerged victorious in the recent elections, according to officials.
The purpose of the lunch, as said by a Raj Niwas official, was to extend congratulations to the newly-elected parliamentarians representing the city.
The BJP registered a clean sweep in Delhi in the May 25 Lok Sabha elections, third time in a row, winning all the seven seats by defeating AAP-Congress alliance candidates.
The Bharatiya Janata Party's success in securing all seven parliamentary seats in Delhi for the third consecutive time was achieved by overcoming the combined efforts of the Aam Aadmi Party and the Congress.
