Rapid Growth in Passenger Numbers

The Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut Namo Bharat corridor has crossed three crore passenger journeys within months of full commissioning, showing strong demand and quickly becoming a preferred travel option across the NCR.

Strong Daily Ridership Trends

Weekday footfall ranges between 90,000 and 1.14 lakh passengers, while Sundays see around 85,000 commuters, reflecting consistent usage and growing reliance on the corridor for regular travel.

Early Operations and Initial Response

Services began on October 21, 2023, with a 17-km stretch between Sahibabad and Duhai Depot, recording over 72,000 passengers in the first month, indicating strong initial public interest.

Expansion Boosted Usage Gradually

Phased expansion to Modinagar North and Meerut South through 2024 steadily increased ridership, with monthly passenger numbers reaching around seven lakh by December, highlighting the impact of improved connectivity.

Delhi Section Improved Connectivity

The addition of the 13-km Delhi stretch enhanced access through key hubs like Anand Vihar, helping the system reach one crore journeys by May 2025 and significantly boosting commuter numbers.

Final Stretch Accelerated Ridership

With the last 26-km section operational in February 2026, monthly ridership surged to nearly 27 lakh in March, crossing three crore journeys within five months of reaching two crore trips.

Features like QR-based ticketing, real-time tracking, and integration with metro and railway apps have simplified travel, reduced waiting times, and enabled smooth end-to-end journey planning for commuters.
