Project Timeline and Completion

The corridor is scheduled for completion by November 2027. Construction will be phased, with tendering starting in April and work beginning in May, ensuring systematic development of the two-lane road along the drain and associated infrastructure. ( PHOTO CREDIT: AI)

Length and Layout of the Corridor

A total of 60.7 km will be developed along the Najafgarh drain, including a 5.9-km stretch on the left bank from Jhatikra Bridge to Chhawla Bridge and 27.4 km of roads on both sides from Chhawla to Basaidarapur. ( PHOTO CREDIT: AI)

Urban and Rural Benefits

The road will enhance access for residents in Uttam Nagar, Vikaspuri, Najafgarh, Dwarka, Paschim Vihar, Rajouri Garden, and surrounding villages. Villages along Dwarka Expressway will also benefit, with improved connectivity to key city routes and infrastructure. ( PHOTO CREDIT: AI)

Road Design and Features

The 7-metre-wide corridor will include dedicated walking, jogging, and cycling tracks. Landscaping, tree plantation, street lighting, signage, and new bridges are planned. Drainage systems and boundary walls will prevent waterlogging and protect government land along the drain. ( PHOTO CREDIT: AI)
