NEW DELHI: The
Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) on Sunday stepped up its drive against unauthorised constructions and illegal encroachments across the capital, according to official data released.
As per a progress report dated June 7, 2026, civic authorities have carried out 95 demolition actions and sealed 124 properties as part of the enforcement campaign against illegal structures.
Officials said that on the latest day of action, one major demolition was conducted and 10 illegal properties were sealed to stop unauthorised usage.
The report also noted that on June 6, authorities had already completed 94 demolition actions and sealed 114 properties as part of the ongoing drive.
To strengthen enforcement, the civic body has issued a series of legal notices. So far, 84 Show Cause Notices for Unauthorised Construction (UC) and 41 Sealing Show Cause Notices have been served to property owners. In addition, 33 formal demolition orders have been issued against structures found in violation of building norms.
Reacting to the ongoing drive in Khanpur, Malviya Nagar MLA and Vice Chairman of the Delhi Jal Board, Satish Upadhyay, backed the civic action, saying it was aimed at protecting public safety.
"The CM of Delhi is always working towards securing the future and the people of Delhi. This demolition drive is based on the rules and regulations of the government. If the G+5 or 17m rule for building construction is violated, it puts lives in danger," Upadhyay said.
He further urged residents to follow building regulations, adding, "I urge people to adhere to the government's rules and be safe. Today's actions have taken place in Khanpur and Sainik Farms, which shows the government's ongoing efforts to secure the future of Delhi's residents."
Separately, BJP Municipal Councillor Mamta Yadav said the demolition at Krishna Park was carried out following public complaints and concerns over safety risks.
"The demolition is being carried out for the public good, as the people living nearby had complained about this building. This action is being taken to prevent any loss of life or property," Yadav said.
